Listen To God and Show Some Respect

As believers we love God and worship Him. Our sincerity of worship is tested by the manner in which we listen to His Voice. The Word of God is full of examples of men and women who have heard the Voice of God and obeyed Him.

Jesus said, "My sheep hear My Voice." We must get to the place in our worship and praise where we stop and listen to what the Father would say to us.

Have you ever tried talking to someone who was so preoccupied with everything else going on around them that they give you little or no eye contact. You are talking away and they are saying, "Yes, yes" or whatever and you just know that they are not really listening? Have you ever done this to someone else? They were talking to you and you heard them, but not really?

If you do not stop what your doing and pay close attention and give genuine eye contact to the person who is talking to you, they will get the impression that you do not feel that they are important or they may feel that you are not showing them respect.

Recently I went through one of these events in which I was the guilty person who was not really paying full attention and I was confronted. I immediately knew I was guilty. I prayed about it and I heard the Father say to me by the Spirit, "My People do this to Me all the time." Wow! What a revelation! I was so deeply convicted. Here we are God's people and we do not give Him our full attention and really listen to what He wants to tell us.

God will talk to you if you will listen. Try it and see. Having a conversation with Him is always encouraging and enlightening.
